Leaving Soon

In about 12 hours, I'll be getting on a plane. I'll have checked my bag, quadrouple double checked that my passport is securely tucked into my carry-on and said good-bye to my family. I'm leaving for Florianopolis tomorrow at 5:10 p.m. We arrive at our destination on Saturday at about 4:30p.m.--Lord willing. I'm leaving behind many of my relationships. I'll have zero to no contact with anyone back home. There is no cell service and it's expensive to make non-emergent phone calls. I'll be spending extended periods of time with my best friends parents. Isn't it suppossed to be the other way around? I'll be acting as a nurse, but instead I'll be learning. Learning from others whom I am going with, but more imporantly with those that we are going for. I've had so much on my mind lately. I'm hoping and praying that this concentrated time away from the trappings of this world will help me to see what is important. And hopefully will show me where He is guiding my path to next. Over the next few days, I'll try to update here as regularly as possible. I'll try to put up the links to Woodmont and the missionaries that we will be working with so you can see what we are doing every day. Pray for the group as we start traveling. Pray that we will be God's hands and feet and that the people of Frei Damao will see His love through us and our actions. Pray that I'll be sensitive over the next few months to God's tugging and that I will be willing to dream as David did. Until tomorrow...

A Little Update

Life has been so busy lately! I have exactly 5 minutes until I have to get in the shower to get ready for work. I'm eating a frozen chicken chimichanga and writing this at the same time. John Mayer is keeping me company in the meantime. I finished my first semester back to school about two weeks ago. I got B's in both of my classes. Not bad. I've just got to keep it up. Summer classes started this week, so I'm already a littel schizophrenic trying to keep up with 4 classes over a 9 week semester. If I can do this I can do ANYTHING!!!! ( I've just got to do it, now).

This weekend is the end of an era. Joy and Jason are getting married Saturday at 4:oo p.m. I've got a few pics of the showers last weekend that I'll try to post (I bought a new camera and I'm still trying to figure out how to use it!). I'm sad that it is the end of such a fantastic era, but happy for my friend.Lindsay and I are planning something something exciting for Girl's night this week.... :-) It's another busy week coming up!!

Brazil is only a few short months away and I'm so escited! I can't wait to go back and hold those children in my arms, again. Please begin praying for us that we will be God's hands and arms that week. That even though the people can't understand our words, that they would see His love through our actions.

Lindsay is spending the month with Jen (read: living with me), so I'm going to go get in the showe before they show back up. Hopefuly I'll be better about updating for a while, before the chaos completely consumes me.

Happt weekend to all

I Need Your Help!!

Last year, after Mikayla was diagnosed with CMV, the March of Dimes began to take on a whole new meaning to our family. Last year we walked in support of what they did. This year, I'm raising money to help support the March of Dimes cause. The hope is that one day, we will have a cure for all childhood diseases so that no child is born sick. In the meantime, please support them in their mission.

Go to www.marchforbabies.org and type in my name to donate. My goal is $100 in just over 1 week...

See ya on the track!!

Congratulations!! Joy and Jason, on your engagement

Here We Go

2009 has already started off with a bang. Mom's birthday was on the 29th. I had to work that day, so Jen and I hosted a birtday celebration for her at my new place. I wanted to get pictures of the new place, but it didn't happen, somehow. It was so much fun to have everyone over to show off the new place. After tacos/burritos/fajitas, and angel lush cake, we all loaded up and headed over to Drea and Chris's house. There, we began a new tradition with the 1st Annual Polar Dip. My aunt got a video of it, but we're still trying to figure out how to e-mail it to everyone and how to upload to the internet. If all of that can be done, then I'll post it!!

I had so much planned to get done today, but it doesn't look like it's all going to happen. Michael has wrestling practice, and I'm suppossed to be taking him. So, I'm stuck at home until they get here. I've just got so much to do...

School looks more and more like it's going to happen. I have to fax off the rest of my shot record and register. Then, I'm ready to go. I will definetly need some prayer and accountability with this. I'll keep everyone updated!!

I've seen challenges on two different blogs that I read(Beth Moore and Angie Jones) to memorize scriptures. So, I'm taking on this challenge and memorizing Psalm 139 over the next few months. I challenge everyone else to do the same thing.
